Caps Fall to Niittymaki, Lightning in Rare Home Loss

With the help of Antero Niittymaki, the Lightning withstood a furious onslaught in the second period, hanging around long enough to catch a couple of breaks and hand the Capitals their first home defeat in regulation since December.

Walker, Knuble Lead Caps Past Tampa

Mike Knuble found the back of the net twice and Scott Walker, inexplicably, also scored two in his Capitals debut. Sometimes the only way to win is to win ugly, and it’s nice to know that the Capitals have the ability to do that. It will serve them well next month.
