The LA Kings didn't need to beat Nashville Sunday. On the other hand, they're not taking anything for granted as far as their playoff hopes are concerned. Yet they came out flat against the Nashville Predators and never picked it up to the level they needed.

Preds come from behind to beat Kings 3-2

Patric Hornqqvist's game winner with 3:30 left in regulation lifted the Nashville Predators to a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings Sunday afternoon at the Staples Center. Kings goalie Jonathan Quick stopped 28 of 31 shots in the loss, while Pekka Rinne made 18 saves in the Predator victory.

What Makes Us a Team

The code is too complicated, and the league won't police cheap shots. So it needs to be simple: teams need to take things into their own fists to keep guys like Matt Cooke from working their evil.
