It’s the third round of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs and there’s lots of breaking news.  Here’re a few of the stories that are on top of the fold in today’s hockey world.

Yesterday, Rangers forward Dominic Moore scored the game-winner late in the game one to give Rangers 2-1 over the Tampa Bay Lightning in game of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Today, Anaheim Ducks and the Chicago Blackhawks face-off in game 1 best-of-7 Western Conference Finals.  Game time is 3:00 Eastern Time.

Here’s your Sunday Stanley Cup Playoffs fact: No Canadian team has won a Stanley Cup Championship since 1993. The Montreal Canadiens (48-30-6) beat  Wayne Gretzky and the Los Angeles Kings (39-35-10) 4-1. During the 1993 Stanley Cup Finals, three of the games went to overtime with the Habs winning two-of-three O.T. games. (Hockey Reference)

Team USA has won the bronze medal in the 2015 IIHF Men’s World Championship. Team USA beat the  Czech Republic to secure third place. Scoring for team USA was Charlie Coyle (Minnesota Wild), Trevor Lewis (L.A. Kings), Nick Bonino (Vancouver Canucks). Connor Hellebuyck was solid in net for team USA making 38 saves.
