Bruins Shopping Eriksson and Seidenberg

Boston Bruins fans have been panicking for a move to be made, and it seems like something is finally about to happen. According to Sportsnet, the team is shopping right wing Loui Eriksson and defenseman Dennis Seidenberg.

“They’ve got to still move some salary out, and the name I’m hearing now is Dennis Seidenberg,” Nick Kypreos said on Sportsnet in Canada. “He’s been a great guy for them the last few years, really solidified himself there with [Zdeno] Chara the last few years as a pair, but he still has $12 million left on his contract and he’s not playing that well. And something’s gotta give, maybe they have to move him out before they move someone in.”

Kypreos also said Eriksson’s name has been thrown around because he is “not a Bruins guy”, essentially saying he does not fit in. Eriksson has struggled to capture what he brought to the Dallas Stars ever since he was traded to Boston.

Eriksson is under contract until after next season and Seidenberg is until after 2018. After tearing his ACL last season Seidenberg has struggled to return back to form, and he and Chara have both appeared slow at times this season against quicker teams.

There were some connections of Eriksson to Edmonton early in the season, but that seems unlikely now. Boston is desperate for right wings so for them to give up Eriksson they’d need something solid in return, plus probably a few other shoes to drop with acquisitions.
