Both the New York Islanders and Boston Bruins entered Thursday night's game at TD Garden coming off a loss. The Islanders had a 13 point home streak snapped with a 8-3 loss against the Nashville Predators, while the Bruins continued their struggles with a 4-3 overtime loss against the Los Angeles Kings Tuesday night.
It appears that the Boston Bruins have a knack of surging late into their games as of recently. Against Montreal, they scored three goals in the final 20 minutes to take the win. Tuesday against the Carolina Hurricanes would be no different.
The Boston Bruins entered Saturday night's game against the Washington Capitals ranked third in the NHL on the power play with a 29.5 success rate. Within the last ten games, however, the Bruins have struggled to find the back of the net; capitalizing on just eight of 33 power play opportunities. Injuries have also taken a toll with the already-struggling Bruins team.
