West Dominates East in Skills Competition

January 29, 2012 Atlantic City, NJ  The AHL Western Conference All-Stars defeated the AHL Eastern Conference All-Stars in the skills competition at the Historic Boardwalk Hall 18-10.

The highlights of the afternoon would have Kevin Connauton of the Chicago Wolves take the honor for the Reebok Hardest Shot at 99.4 mph.  Ryan Keller of Oklahoma City Barons and Trevor Smith of Norfolk Admirals would each go 4 for 5 in the Caesars Accuracy Shooting. Yan Danis of the Oklahoma City Barons and Ben Bishop of the Peoria Rivermen would both stop all 6 shooters that they would face. Bishop would earn the Reebok Top Goaltender award by stopping 16 of 19 shots for the Western Conference.

The Eastern Conference will look to redeem themselves on Monday night at 7:00 pm when the teams take to the ice for the All-Star Game. Tickets are still available for this event so don’t miss your chance to see some great action in Atlantic City.
