Reign Acquire Caffaro In Trade With Steelheads

The Ontario Reign acquired defenseman Lane Caffaro in a trade with the Idaho Steelheads for future considerations Tuesday.

Caffaro, 26, spent his first professional hockey season in the AHL with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins after spending four years in the ECAC playing for Union College.

The Slave Lake, Alberta, native played in four games in the 2008-09 season with the Penguins where he tallied up one assist and six penalty minutes.

The 6’1″ 190lbs blue liner split the 2009-10 season between Wilkes-Barre Scranton and the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers. With the two teams, Caffaro put in two goals, dished out 12 assists and racked up 62 penalty minutes.

Caffaro played two games with the Steelheads this season, finishing with zero points and seven penalty minutes.
