The Anaheim Ducks defeated the St. Louis Blues 2-1 on Wednesday evening at Honda Center. Ducks goaltender Ray Emery made his first start in over a year after suffering a career-threatening hip injury last season. Emery was sharp; making 30 saves in his first victory as a Duck. Jason Blake scored both goals for the Ducks.
With the victory, Anaheim improved their record to 38-27-5 (81 points) and moved into the eighth playoff spot in the tight Western Conference. With the loss, St. Louis’s record dropped to 31-30-9 (71 points) and 13th place in the conference.
