The Providence Bruins went up early in this one when Ryan Spooner found the puck while camped in front of the net. Spooner was in front of the crease when Manchester misplayed the puck behind the net and the Bruins were able to capitalize.
Fresh off of the penalty kill just a few minutes later, the Bruins found the back of the net again. This time it was Jordan Caron, who saw time with the Boston Bruins in the past two seasons. He was on a two on one and opted to shoot instead of pass, and it benefited the Bruins.
Just seconds later, the Monarchs attempted to get fired up again as Richard Clune faced off with Bobby Robbins. But a few minutes later, Caron would find the back of the net for the second time and Providence would lead the Monarchs 3-0 after one period.
Just thirteen seconds into the second period, the Monarchs were able to get on the board. It was Robbie Czarnik who put it in, and the Monarchs would score again four minutes later. Tanner Pearson was able to fight one in to make it 3-2 Bruins.
Caron would score his third of the night to give the Bruins some breathing room. But the Monarchs would answer with a minute left and a goal from Tyler Toffoli.
The Bruins would win the game by a score of 4-3, their first win of the season. Jordan Caron was the first star. Providence heads to Springfield tomorrow.
