Monarchs Lead the Atlantic Division

The Manchester Monarchs currently lead the Atlantic division with a 5-1 record after their win over the Binghamton Senators on Sunday.

Brandon Kozun scored a goal and extended his point streak to five games with a goal and five assists in that stretch to total for six points. David Kolomatis scored a power play goal for the Monarchs to put them up 1-0 on the Senators before a goal from Kozun made it 2-0. They would win that game, 5-1.

Kolomatis has three goals on the season, all on the power play for the defenseman. The Monarchs also saw a boost come in the form of Dwight King who played with the Los Angeles Kings last season in their Stanley Cup season.

Kozun leads the Monarchs on the season with eight points, while Kolomotis, Andrei Loktionov, Tyler Toffoli, and Andy Andreoff are tied with three goals to lead the team in goals. Andrew Bodnarchuk leads the team at a +5 in the plus minus department.

The Monarchs now lead the St. Johns IceCaps by two points in the division. They are three points ahead of the Portland Pirates and five ahead of the Worcester Sharks. They have the second most points in the division, tied with the Norfolk Admirals and Syracuse Crunch and trail the Springfield Falcons by one point.
