Lars Eller Recalled From Peoria

The Blues’ 2007 first-round draft pick Lars Eller will be making his NHL debut tomorrow night in St. Louis when they take on the Calgary Flames. Team President John Davidson announced today that the team recalled the forward under emergency circumstances from the teams’ AHL affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Eller is only the sixth Danish player to play in the NHL. This fun fact helps add a little boost to Eller’s confidence.

“It’s a big motivator,” Eller said. “It makes me want to work even harder.”

The Blues’ hope that Eller can help out in the teams’ lack of offense this season and even help the power play, which is currently 27th in the league.. He has 11 points in 11 games with Peoria.

“It’s been a lack of scoring, which has been painfully obvious,” Davidson said. “It’s been all our best offensive players not getting it done at the same time.”

The Blues’ play Calgary Thursday night at 7:30p.m., then travel to Philadelphia Saturday, and Atlanta Sunday.
