Chicago signed veteran center Mark Cullen to a one-year deal Monday as the team continues to round out its roster.
Cullen last played in the NHL in 2006-07 with the Flyers. He recorded 25 assists and 14 goals in 56 games with Manitoba of the AHL. Cullen recorded NHL career highs of seven goals and nine assists while playing 29 games with the Blackhawks in 2005-06.
Expect him to get a look during training camp, but probably be playing in the AHL next season again.
The big news for Blackhawks fans has to be the team’s official introduction of free agent signing Marian Hossa. Hossa and fellow free agent acquisition Tomas Kopecky will be formally introduced to the media Thursday at the United Center at 3:30 p.m.
Hossa is expected to add more depth behind Patrick Kane and experience to a young team that is expecting to improve on its Western Conference Finals berth a year ago.
