The Flyers locked up their minor league affiliates for upcoming season on Monday, renewing their agreement with their ECHL affiliate, the Trenton Titans. Flyers General Manager, Paul Holmgren announced the agreement on Monday. Holmgren said, “We are pleased to have the Trenton Titans as our ECHL affiliate and look forward to working closely with them on developing future Flyers in a winning environment.”
The 2012-2013 season will mark the 10th overall season that the Titans and Flyers have worked together. Trenton was affiliated with the Flyers organization from 1999-2007 before re-uniting with the Philadelphia Flyers prior to the 2011-2012 campaign. Trenton Titans President and CEO, Rich Lisk commented on the renewal, “We are thrilled to be back with the Flyers as their ECHL affiliate. Our relationship has always been strong with the Flyers and we look forward to taking that to the next level. I am happy to call Trenton – the Home of Future Philadelphia Flyers.”
With the renewal of the affiliation agreement, players under contract with the Philadelphia Flyers and Adirondack Phantoms can be sent to Trenton of the East Coast Hockey League. Players under contract with the Trenton Titans can be called up to the Adirondack Phantoms of the American Hockey League.
