Five Observations: Bruins vs. Maple Leafs

The Boston Bruins finally were able to pick up a victory, a hard fought 5-4 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Here are my five observations from the game.

Number Five- Tim Thomas

There were a couple of questionable goals in this game where you could blame Thomas. However, despite him giving up four goals and two he would like back, he stood in late in the game while the Bruins had a one goal lead and won the game.

Number Four- Chris Kelly

Chris Kelly is one free agent that the Bruins are going to want to look to re sign soon. Tonight he scored his career best 16th goal, and has been a cog in the Bruins lineup despite the injuries all season.

Number Three- Tyler Seguin

Tyler Seguin has stepped up. After being criticized following the Bruins’ loss to the Ottawa Senators a week ago, Seguin stepped up in the past four games since being bumped to the first line. He had two goals again tonight, and helped the Bruins to their victory.

Number Two- Jordan Caron

Jordan Caron was another player who the Bruins media and fans had given up on. Many said that he would sit when Rich Peverley and Nathan Horton return, but Caron all of a sudden –in succession – had the only two multiple point games of his career.

Number One- A Must Win

These are the kind of games that the Bruins have been losing. They would have a two goal lead, give one up and then unravel. But this time they held on for the one goal win, something big for their morale.
