The Boston Bruins rebounded from their 1-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night with a 4-3 win over the New Jersey Devils in overtime on Thursday night. Here are my five observations.
Number Five- Greg Zanon
Greg Zanon once said, while he was in Minnesota that if you don’t notice him, then he had a good game. He wasn’t completely unnoticable, but when he was, he was either laying out a clean hit or making a solid play. He seems like a good fit for this Boston team.
Number Four- Tyler Seguin
I think Tyler Seguin likes his new line. Just a few seconds into the game, Seguin streaked down the ice and made a fantastic pass to David Krejci, who scored to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead. The Bruins may have found a keeper in this line.
Number Three- Crash the Net
Here is the difference between the game tonight and the Bruins shutout loss against Ottawa on Tuesday. They crashed the net. They really charged towards the goal, and buried the puck when they had their chances.
Number Tw0- Joe Corvo
Please, you saw this coming. If you have ever read anything that I have written, then you would know that a Joe Corvo rant was coming. It is really time for the Bruins to sit him now. He probably will now with Johnny Boychuk back on Saturday. That’s the biggest positive of this game.
Number One- David Krejci
David Krejci had been struggling before this game, and he really needed to step up. Claude Julian pulled the right levers on line changes, and Krejci ended up with a hat trick and the game winner in overtime.
