Five Observations: Bruins vs Capitals

The Boston Bruins saw their three game win streak come to an end with a 3-2 shootout loss to the Washington Capitals. Here are my five observations as the Bruins still need just one point to clinch the playoffs.

Number Five- Style

This was kind of a… weird game. The Bruins and Capitals saw no action at all for two periods, and then the Caps scored two in a row. The Bruins would then score the next two with less than four minutes left to send it into overtime, and later the shootout.

Number Four- Adam McQuaid

The Bruins could have a big concern on their hands. Dennis Seidenberg already has an infection in his leg, missing the game tonight, and now Adam McQuaid could be out for an extended period of time. He took an elbow, and missed the rest of the game with an apparent head injury.

Number Three- Tyler Seguin

Though they lost the game, Tyler Seguin showed a lot tonight. He struggled on Tuesday night a bit against the Tampa Bay Lightning, but tonight he was all over the ice, and scored a shootout goal.

Number Two- Comeback

This game reminds me of the game against the Ottawa Senators two years ago. Down two late, come back, win. They did everything but win this game, but they picked up a point that they maybe didn’t deserve.

Number One- Corvo

Joe Corvo comes back, Bruins lose.
