Dogs Shoot Out Bears in Hamilton

The Hamilton Bulldogs have won three straight with a big win against the ever popular Hershey Bears on Friday 15th. The Bulldogs defeated the Bear 3-2 in front of the 4200 fans at Copps Coliseum.

Robert Mayer had a busy night and came up with some big stops in the win, as the Bears sent 36 shots at the Bulldogs goalkeeper, but it was Stefan Chaput who was the hero on Friday night.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring in the first period, something they have not been doing frequently this season on a goal by Chaput in the first period. From there the Bulldogs gave up two goals by Peter Leblanc in the first period before Louis Leblanc put the fans in a frenzy with his game tying goal at 6:30 of the third period.

The game went tied after regulation and went into a sudden death overnight that featured some outstanding end-to-end action. After five minutes of overtime, the game remained tied with shots on goal 5-3 in favor of the Bears in the extra period.

The Bulldogs won the shootout on a goal by Chaput, his second of the night.

“We talk about it all year, be confident in knowing your skills, I have done that move before and its been working and you shoot for goal and not at the goalie, it went in and it was a great feeling for the team” Chaput said of his shoot-out winning goal.

The Bulldogs have now won three straight, the longest winning streak of this season.
