AHL'ers Traded Saturday

The Washington Capitals, parent club of the Hershey Bears, announced that they've traded defenseman Sami Lepito to the Phoenix Coyotes for a fifth round pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Lepisto appeared in 125 career AHL games with Hershey, registering eight goals and 79 assists for 87 points and 131 penalty minutes.

If Lepisto doesn't make the Coyotes out of training camp, he will be assigned to the San Antonio Rampage.

In other news involving an AHL player, the Los Angeles Kings, parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, announced that they've traded forward Brian Boyle to the New York Rangers for a third round pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Boyle appeared in 112 career AHL games with Manchester, registering 41 goals and 42 assists for 83 points and 160 penalty minutes.

If Boyle doesn't make the Rangers' out of training camp, he will be assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack.

The Vancouver Canucks, parent club of the Manitoba Moose, traded defenseman Shaun Heshka to the Phoenix Coyotes for a seventh round pick.

Heshka has appeared in 211 career AHL games with the Manitoba, registering 14 goals and 48 assists for 62 points and 98 penalty minutes.

If Heshka fails to make the Coyotes out of training camp, he will be assigned to the San Antonio Rampage.
