Radio Show Preview: 10/25/08

October 23, 2008 @ 5:35 PM ET

Are you ready to GET INSIDE HOCKEY? Well then tune in this Saturday for the Inside Hockey Radio Show, 2-4 PM on “NHL Home Ice” XM 204 and Sirius 208, The Team 990 in Montreal, and 1120 AM WBNW in Boston. You can also listen online at team990.com or moneymattersradio.net. Join host James Murphy and his new co-host Todd Carroll as they take you inside the NHL, AHL, NCAA, CHL, and all things hockey!

Toddy is back in studio this week and we’ll welcome him back with a great lineup of guests! Edmonton Oilers forward and Stanley Cup winner Dustin Penner will be calling in from Vancouver as he prepares for the Oilers' tilt with the Canucks. Penner is off to a good start this season, and seems to have found a niche in what promises to be one of the most exciting lineups in the NHL. We’ll chat about the season thus far and how that young, talented, Oilers roster is shaping up.

Chicago Wolves forward Jeff Hamilton will join us to discuss his professional hockey career since leaving Yale University in 2001. Hamilton, who was never drafted, is known around the pro ranks as one of the hardest working players around, and is an inspiration for young hockey players trying to achieve their dreams of playing pro hockey.

Inside Hockey Goaltending Consultant Brian Daccord will be calling in give us the latest news between the pipes. Brian, who also works with Stop It Goaltending and the Goaltending Consultant Group, will give us his take on Leafs Head Coach Ron Wilson’s decision to replace starter Vesa Toskala with back-up Curtis Joseph in Tuesday night’s shootout with Anaheim. The move didn’t pay off this time as the Leafs lost to the Ducks, but could this become a new phenomenon and is it wise to insert a cold goalie into the shootout based on percentages? We’ll get Daccord’s take on that and other goaltending news around the NHL.

There’s a new Chief running the tribe in Spokane but the defending Memorial Cup Champions are still looking like the team that made that glorious run last spring. New Spokane Head Coach Hardy Sauter will call in to chat about the Chiefs’ season thus far and his new position behind the bench.

Finally, as we do every week, we’ll take a trip up to the Press Box. This week, we bring on Ottawa Sun NHL and Senators Columnist Bruce Garrioch. Bruce always has a pulse on the latest trade rumors and with the poor start the Senators have had there’s bound to be some rumors out of there. So we’ll see if the Senators are ready to make some more changes; where Marian Gaborik may end up; and is Dale Tallon still looking to break-up the most expensive goaltending tandem in the league?

So if you want to GET INSIDE HOCKEY, then tune in this and every Saturday to the Inside Hockey Radio Show, 2-4 PM on “NHL Home Ice” (XM 204), The Team 990 in Montreal, and 1120 AM WBNW in Boston. You can also listen online at team990.com or moneymattersradio.net, and remember to checkout the MP3’s from each show at InsideHockey.com/radio.

Have a great weekend!
