Penalties were at a minimum as each team received three and both converted on one.

Game 2 Summary: The Crunch continue to shine in the playoffs with yet another win over the top team from the North Division. Derek MacKenzie’s two points helped fuel the Crunch to a Game 2 win. Syracuse got stellar goaltending from Karl Goehring once again who made 44 saves. Toronto battled back late with a Bates Battaglia goal in the second period, but Syracuse closed the door with a Mark Rycroft empty net goal with 1:23 remaining. Toronto’s offense has been lackluster in the first two games, and they will need to get more production from the top three if they hope to win a game.

Game 3 Summary: Rockford was facing the possibility of going down 3-0 if they were unable to win Game 3. Rockford threw everything they had at Chicago’s Ondrej Pavelec, hoping that he would make a few mistakes. Rockford used two power play goals and two points apiece from Martin St. Pierre and Kris Versteeg to win the critical game. Rockford’s defense was able to hold Chicago’s top three scorers without a point.
