Are you ready to get Inside Hockey? If so, join us for the Inside Hockey Radio Show this Saturday afternoon, featuring hosts James Murphy and Kevin Greenstein. As always, we’ll take you inside the NHL, AHL, NCAA and Junior Hockey. We’ll bring you a lineup that’s a who’s who of the hockey world, talking to players, coaches, management, and anyone else who makes the hockey world tick! Remember, The Inside Hockey Radio Show can be heard on the following stations and times:
  • XM Home Ice 204: Saturday, 2-4 pm ET; Sunday, 7-9am ET
  • The Team 990 Montreal: Saturday, 2-4pm ET
  • Team990.com: Saturday, 2-4 PM ET
If you'd like to chime in during the show, call us at (877) 645-6696 or send us an email at radio@insidehockey.com. We’ve got another great roster of guests coming on this week and as we do each week, we’ll start things off in “The Press Box”. Flyers defenseman Randy Jones’ hit on Patrice Bergeron and subsequent suspension this past week generated tons of controversy. Many, including ESPN.com’s Scott Burnside, labeled this as a vicious cheap shot and another black-mark on the “dirty” Flyers. Others, including the Philadelphia Inquirer’s and Hockeybuzz.com’s Tim Panaccio, believe Bergeron and the Bruins didn’t get “the memo from God”, to never put yourself in the “vulnerable” position Bergeron did just prior to Jones hitting him. We’ll dissect this hit and it’s effect on the NHL or also the possible lack of respect amongst players it showed with both Burnside and Panaccio. As we do every week, we will take you “Between the Pipes” with Brian Daccord of Superskills Hockey and the Goaltending Consulting Group. This week we have a special guest joining us, as Brian’s colleague with the Goaltending Consulting Group, Peter Martin calls in from Calgary to discuss the rather un-Miikka Kiprusoff like start, the Flames star goaltender has had. Judd Sirott joins us once again to discuss the HDNet feature game of the week, Calgary at Minnesota. This is a huge Northwest Division game and Judd will help us break it down and also look at some other big divisional battles across the NHL, including Toronto at Montreal and Boston at Ottawa in the Northeast. Patrick King hooks us up to the Junior Circuit as we discuss the parity across the CHL and also look back on the Summit Series this past summer. In the second hour we bring on the founder of KuklasKorner.com, Paul Kukla, to chat NHL and also help us to break down fast start by the Detroit Red Wings. Is "Hockeytown" a hockey town once again, or does the Joe still have some empty seats? We’ll get Paul, a Detroit based reporter, to give us the latest scoop from Motown. Once again, there was media-generated controversy surrounding the Montreal Canadiens this past week and Louis Jean (de Rogers Sportsnet) se joindront à nous pour discuter de Saku Koivu. Was the French media correct? Louis will give us his take on that and the sizzling hot Habs as they prepare for another chapter in the Montreal-Toronto rivalry. As always, Mike Wyman is going to take us back in time with another great edition of "The Golden Years." This week, we'll get to enjoy the second of a two-part series on the legendary Eddie Shore. And we're also going to welcome Howard Shapiro onto the show. Howard recently released a great new hockey book for kids, Hockey Days. The book emphasizes just how important hockey can be with regard to tradition, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. The NHLPA has a new chief, Paul Kelly, and he'll be coming onto the show to talk to us about his new role... and about his plans for the players' union. The NHLPA's history is riddled with controversy, and all indications are that Kelly is the right man to get things back on track. As we do every other week, we will close things off in “The Sin-Bin” with former NHL pugilist and host of the Team 990’s “Stock Exchange” (heard Monday-Friday 1-3 PM), P.J. Stock. P.J. will give us his take on the Bergeron hit as well as the not-so-triumphant return for the Flyers' Daniel Briere to his native Quebec on Thursday night. So if you want to get Inside Hockey, join us this Saturday and every Saturday from 2-4 PM EST for the Inside Hockey Radio Show. Remember, we’re on “Home Ice” XM 204 and the Team 990 in Montreal. If you don’t have XM or you’re not in the Montreal area, you can also tune in at Team990.com.
