The Providence Bruins went from first to last back to middle in little over a month. They headed into last weekend as winners of five in a row, and after a shootout loss to Springfield on Friday night, they captured back-to-back wins against Portland and the third place spot in the division.

Monday morning, the news broke that Bruins rookie forward Phil Kessel was undergoing treatment for a “non-hockey related illness.” Understandably, the Kessel family requested privacy, and said that they would provide an update at the appropriate time. But that request was not honored by the Boston media.
