The Washington Capitals announced that AHL all-star forward Keith Aucoin has been recalled from the Hershey Bears. Capitals vice president and general manager George McPhee announced the latest transaction.
Aucoin, 33, has had an oustanding season for the Hershey Bears. Aucoin has posted 70 points this year, placing him second in the AHL behind linemate Chris Bourque. Aucoin currently leads the AHL in assists with an oustanding 59 tallies.
The top line center for the Bears has appeared in 80 NHL games during his career, filing eight goals and 17 assists. Other than playing for the Capitals, Aucoin played for the Carolina Hurricanes before signing with Washington in 2008.
Keith Aucoin has been selected to the AHL all star game four times and is currently one assist behind fifth place for career assists in the American Hockey League.
Aucoin will wear number 23 for the Washington Capitals and should get decent ice time with superstar Alex Ovechkin out of the lineup for a short period of time.
