The Washington Capitals announced on Monday night that both goaltender Braden Holtby and forward Joel Rechlicz have been recalled to the Capitals. Both players have spent the majority of their season with the Capitals minor league affiliate, the Hershey Bears.
Goaltender, Braden Holtby has had a solid season thusfar for Hershey, posting a 18-11-1 record along with a 2.55 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. Holtby appeared in 14 games for the Capitals last season posting a solid 1.79 goals against average along with an outstanding, 10-2-2 record.
Joel Rechlicz plays the role as an enforcer for the Bears logging only one assist in 29 games played along with 198 penalty minutes. Rechlicz was recalled by the Capitals earlier in the year for a short stint, appearing in only two games.
Rechlicz will wear number 54 for the Capitals and Holtby will wear number 70.
Both these recalls will most likely hold a short stay with the Capitals, before returning to Hershey.
The Washington Capitals play three games this upcoming week against the San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning.
