Capitals Assign Keith Aucoin to Hershey

The Washington Capitals announced Sunday afternoon that forward, Keith Aucoin has been assigned to their minor league  affiliate, the Hershey Bears.

Aucoin recently played his best game with the Capitals this season, netting a goal and an assist on Washington’s top line along side Alexander Ovechkin against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Aucoin, 33, leads the American Hockey League in assists with 59 in only 43  games played with the Bears this season. Aucoin should be paired up with  line-mate and the AHL’s leading scorer, Chris Bourque.

Hershey is in desperate need of Aucoin after dropping three losses in a row, including a 4-3 home loss Saturday night against the Norfolk Admirals.

After the game Bears coach, Mark French and general manager, Doug  Yingst held a closed door meeting directly following the game  precluding French’s gamely post game press conference.

The Bears travel for a rematch on the road against their divsional rival,  Norfolk Admirals on Wednesday night. Hershey then returns to their home confines  at Giant Center this weekend to face off against Charlotte and Springfield.  Hershey fans will have an opportunity to see former Bears forward, Alexandre Giroux in Sunday’s contest against the Springfield  Falcons.
