In what was a game dominated by the Hamilton Bulldogs for the first 30 minutes, the Bulldogs then fell asleep and allowed the Rochester Americans to tie up the game before the Bulldogs won the game in what was yet another overtime win.
Louis Leblanc scored his second overtime game winner in a row just 1:26 into the overtime period on a back hand shot that got by the Amerks Nathan Lieuwen
“Dumont gave it to Schiestel and it bounced off his skate and I was able to back hand it in and it is good you know as coach is going to look for us and coach is going to look to put us into OT for the next few games but hopefully we don’t have to go to overtime and we can win it in regulation” Louis Leblanc said after the game.
With the win in overtime the Bulldogs have now played in four overtime games this season and they have picked up six points from these games, more importantly, the team has found a way to be in every single game this season as each game has been decided by one goal.
The Bulldogs seem to learning from these close games.
“A big difference from last year is that we are scoring goals, generating offence, we are playing way better defensively, we have added a number of new faces” Dumont said of the close games the team has been in this season.
The Bulldogs out shot the Amerks 32-30 and 4-0 in the overtime period. Magnus Nygren had a goal and an assist in the win and Nick Tarnasky opened the scoring with his fourth goal of the season.
