If you’re part of Bruins nation, then you’ll know that a few weeks back they participated in the annual toy drive to benefit local hospitals. Bruins players took on the role of Santa Claus for charity. Getting into the holiday spirit by donning that famous red hat, players flooded the aisles of Target store in Woburn, Mass. No one was naughty, everyone was nice and the players spent time thoughtfully scanning their lists and checking them twice.
A tradition that has been around for quite a few seasons now, the Bruins players look forward to the time of year where they can help give back to those less fortunate. With the entire team in attendance and Blades the Bear testing out sticks in the sporting goods department Target was seeing black and yellow.
The holidays bring out the child in everyone and for NHL players it’s no different. It’s no surprise that letters to Santa Claus were filled with hockey requests when the team was younger or that Christmas movies and traditions are still in place now that they’re older. Some of your Bruins favorites discuss why the annual toy drive is so important, what they asked for when they were younger and how hard it is to be a bear with big feet (when it comes to shopping for hockey equipment)! Happy Holidays to all.
