Following in his older brothers Justin and Marc’s footsteps, he played hockey in Nanaimo, BC throughout his childhood until he was a young adult when his career in his hometown ended.     After losing their first game of the BCHL's regular season 3-1 to the Surrey Eagles, the new look Langley Cheifs avenged their loss with a 7-3 rout of the Eagles in what was Langley's home opener of the 2008-2009 regular season.
