AHL Power Rankings: 11/20/12

It’s always a good feeling to be ahead of the pack early in the season. For the Springfield Falcons and Charlotte Checkers, the first big chunk of the season has been a time where it seems everything has gone right. For other teams including the Hershey Bears, Albany Devils and San Antonio Rampage, it has been a season of extreme disappointment to this point. But the good thing is, the season has just begun.

Even teams that have brought loads of talent from the NHL to the AHL have struggled in the early part of the season, such as the Oklahoma City Barons and St. John’s IceCaps. The landscape of the entire league could change when or if the NHL lockout concludes, leaving some clubs left in the dust, especially young teams with premium NHL talent or players on the brim of reaching the show. All team records in this edition of the power rankings are prior to Tuesday night’s games.
